Graphic tablets

I've just started learning photoshop with doing web graphics as a part of the reason I'm learning and wondered if a graphic tablet would help or not, don't want to spend a pile of money and found this one. Intuos2
This is the kind of work I have in mind doing. Labs

That one looks nice and the price seems right. I have never even tried a tablet...have you?? I have PhotoShop Elements (in the bundle) and I like it. If you already have PS, though, you already have everything Elements has to offer.

Do you use Flash??

You can do the same thing with a mouse but a tablet gives you a lot more control. Try using your mouse to draw a freehand circle, then you will see what I mean.

The pressure sensitivity is the best thing about it.

I made a thread a while ago about wanting one myself and why, trying to draw hundreds of individual hairs or fur with a mouse is tedious.

You can speed up your workflow dramitically with a tablet.

BTW

Wacom is the best ones to get.

what about a glide pad? I had a small one but my finger would get sore after a while.

dont even know what one is lol

what does it do? replace the mouse?

If so I would think they wouldnt be suited for graphics because of the size of your finger, a graphics tablet has a pen thats like a real pen with a small point which allows you to draw small precise lines, a glide pad (if its what I think it is) would draw a line the size of your finger and thats even if they are compatible with a program like photoshop

I used to have a Wacom Graphire, it broke

Thanks for the info Bromy & Deb and it seems you aren't a happy camper Alex.

Nav Flash is next on the learning list for me I'm still stumbling around in Photoshop but I do use Swish a little and have a basic understanding of how it works.

Go with wacom. But I dont suggest getting one if ur not serious about what your doing. It would just be a waist of money. It does save a lot of time tho, brom is rite.
