OK...what's going on??? I did everything (apparent) to publish a pic to the web.
I am with Rogers.
I set up another e-mail account and verified it works.
Got set up with rogers to make web page "active" or whatever they call it.
Went to Front page...opened new web...inserted a pic and saved it.
Selected publish, entered the info for rogers server, BUT when it asks for user name and password, my bloody password gets rejected.
I downloaded the program ws_ftp and went through the whole sheebang and same thing...password rejected.
If you don't have any ideas here, I'll call Rogers, just rather avoid it. Thanks

I have never activated my Rogers, hopefully Trip can help I think he has his up.
i kind of wonder if its similiar to the problems people were having during the @home switch.I know I couldnt open my email till i figured out that I had to enter my full name IE: fred@rogers,com if I used just fred as my username then it would reject it with the same error you are getting. Even though it said password rejected it was my username causing the problem.
So if your username is Navigator try entering navaigator@rogers,com as the username.
Trip?

Have you seen this from the help page?
Start your FTP application and open the window that allows you to enter site login or session information.
Type members.rogers.com for the host name of the server.
Type your user name and password. The user name and password you use for FTP are the same as those you use for your email account.
Connect to the host. Most FTP applications have a Connect button. Once you've connected, FTP provides you with a list of the files in your Web directory.
Select Binary Transfer mode.
Transfer your files.
Disconnect from the WebSpace server.

Got it figured out.
Called rogers. At first they thought the database was corrupt, guy couldn't figure out why it was rejecting. Went through it again and again...lol...he finally realized I was using capitals in my username. AnotherCanadian...should be anothercanadian. By the time we were done I said sheesh, I shoulda used a shorter name. lolol
Thanks...TB you were soooo close..lol
knew case made a diff in password but thought user name should be exactly like e-mail name...not so

Sorry I missed this, was doing homework (programming) and having dinner.
Glad you got it working.
Also if all you want to do is put up pics, you don't need to fire up frontpage. Just load up your FTP proggie, log in to ur rogers space and upload the pic.

well you said you opened up frontpage and put the pic in there and then tried throwin it up on your webspace.
Im just saying that you don't need to open up frontpage to post a picture. You only need frontpage if you want to create a webpage.

ok.. first u need to figure out ur new website URL
do u have this?
(prolly something like http://members.rogers.com/navigator)
2nd.... go to (using My Computer)
C:\My Documents\My Webs
make a folder called "wutever u want" & that will be ur website folder
INSIDE that "wutever u want" folder
make another one called images
got all that?
now.. .. c&p an image/pic/graphic/wutever , from anywhere on ur harddrive, into that new image folder
ya following?
let's say ur graphic u put in that new image folder is called star.gif
k, now, open ftp... u can browse thro to find that graphic
browse to find
C:\My Documents\My Webs\wutever u want\images\star.gif
drag 'n drop it to the server
OR
just drag & drop the whole folder called images right over cuz from now on.. all ur image will go into that folder anyway
THEN... ur almost there:D
get ur webspace URL
i.e.
http://members.rogers.com/navigator
on the END of that URL tack on
/images/star.gif
when u hit the Enter key.. u should see ur image posted
u can now c&p that URL where the image is... come to a post & put
[ IMG]http://members.rogers.com/navigator/images/star.gif[/IMG ] tags around that URL (no spaces in the [ IMG] tho
& it will show in ur post
:D

That was really great of you to write all that out, it was perfectly explained...thank you for your patience...XX
I put it as a link because I was thinking about what JMD had said about saving bandwith etc. (not that this pic was any big deal), and wanted to test that idea. That's how he wants pics done on his forum anyway. Now if Bromy wants to save width, I can do it here to for ALL my Bryce pics..lol
If I want to post the actual pic, I can just browse to attach image, right?
It was a long night, but fun when you've learned something...:D :D :D

bromy's attachment size is a bit bigger than most forums i think tho
& then again.. it saves his bandwidth to use the IMG tag also
