Wife and son coming home next week, both do their fair share of netting. Had a few of the boys round yeasterday after a bender round the local pub, their google searches less than biblical!

I've erased the cookies, and history, but the prompts as to previous searches still appear when I type in the 'google search' box.

How to erase those also?

Cheers,

D.J.

just for clarification..
Do you have a Google Toolbar in your browser?
.. if so.. click the Google toggle drop down to the left of the input field and choose "Clear Search History"

if that's not what you mean then supply a little further detail and what operating system you have and perhaps we can get an answer for you :)
When you click the History button on your browser's interface, does a window that opens to the side reveal any history?

Ok..now that I've had another coffee and re read this it seems like it's got to do with the Auto Complete feature.

This is from Microsoft and will tell you how to adjust settings and save me alot of typing :D

Adjusting AutoComplete Settings

To modify your settings for the AutoComplete feature or clear all items from the list of form or password suggestions, follow these steps in Internet Explorer:

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Content tab.
Click AutoComplete.
Click the appropriate AutoComplete check boxes, or click Clear Forms or Clear Passwords to clear all saved items from the appropriate AutoComplete history.
Click OK, and then click OK.

To clear individual items from the list of form or password suggestions, click the item in the list of suggestions for that field and then press DELETE. The AutoComplete list automatically appears when you perform any of the following actions on a previously populated form:

Type the first character in the field
Press the UP or DOWN keys in the field
Double-click a blank area in the field

To clear your AutoComplete history for Web addresses, follow these steps in Internet Explorer:
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the General tab.
Click Clear History, and then click OK.

To turn on the inline AutoComplete feature for Web addresses, follow these steps in Internet Explorer:

On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Click the Advanced tab.
Under Browsing, click the Use inline AutoComplete for Web addresses check box, and then click OK.
