Monday morning I had 605 new messages... 3/4 of them were spam
I average about 150-200 per day at work... none at home! :D

Yeah, same here..god, if i got this much at home.. i'd give up having internet connection! it's SO not worth it!
i just read an article in our paper last friday about more & more people giving up their email accounts.. they are fed up with junkmail
i only wish i could get rid of my email here!
simple solution would be to change my email addy.. apparently that's against policy
Can you install a spam filter on your work computer, or are you not allowed to?

yes, i have CloudMark.. it's a plug in for Outlook
it catches most of it & puts it in that 'junkmail' folder i have set up (u see it in my attached image)
that has been a HUGE help since i've had it! TG for it.. only trouble is, it only works while outlook is open, with is only 3 days out of the week! lol
& when i use webmail from home.. it's not being caught by the CloudMark so i have to manually delete about 400 per week from home.. if i dont delete the stuff from home, i can't check my email from home.. inbox gets too full
before CloudMark.. i had to keep deleting all of this stuff myself.. all day, everyday!
at least i get a bit of a break from it now

I have SpamSieve (Mac-only :D)

It probably works the same.. your email has to be open & running.
The plus about filters being on the net system is that this crap never gets to you at all!
I still get all the spam.. only dif. is that 3 days a week, I don't have to sift thro it all & delete the junk
I'm not getting spam anymore.... I got rid of the one email addy that was getting it..... prob is that it was used for many areas. :(

Although I haven't personally tried it since I don't have a spam problem (yet), a number of folks at TCM have raved about a program called "POPfile". It's supposed to be extremely effective at eliminating spam.
POPfile info here (http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail.php3?fid=1045631682)
