You know what drive me up the wall?
I use the google toolbar and when using Internet Explorer 6 I like to have the buttons for the browser, address bar and google toolbar all on one row. I get things all set up how I want it then right click an empty area on the toolbar and select "lock the toolbars"
Well sure enough after a while things dont stay "locked" and the google toolbar winds up on its own row.
What part of "lock the toolbars" doesnt IE understand?
this is more of a rant than anything lol
1'st screenshot is how it winds up
2'nd is how I prefer it

WOW, what a timely post. i had that problem about a year ago and then it stopped all on it's own. Last week I installed the toolbar on the kids machines and they have your exact problem. I came back to mine to look at the settings and sure enough, it had moved. I deleted it last night and downloaded the new Google toolbar (version 2 )http://toolbar.google.com/
This is a new version with some POPUP remover in it but I have it set minus all the little attachments and it has not moved since last night.
Good luck :)

but overall its working better than version one did.

I don't use the page rank or news etc, I just have the icon for search and images. :)

America Online (AOL) announced Tuesday that it was laying off 50 employees who worked on the Netscape Web browser and reorganizing development of the Mozilla project under which the browser is developed, signaling an end to Netscape and to the company's competition with Microsoft's dominant Internet Explorer.
AOL was quick to downplay the news, noting that the developers represented less than 10 percent of Netscape's employees; the company also said that it would continue supporting current Netscape users and the Netscape Web portal. But with development of the core browser suite moving to a new independent foundation called the Mozilla Foundation, it's clear that AOL has finally given up on the browser market.

I have to say the google toolbar popup stopper is the best one I have ever used. It blocks ALL popups, where as some of the other programs I used didnt catch them all.

Last week AOL jetissoned its Netscape browser brand, throwing the development team overboard with a $2 million lifebelt. Mozilla and its derivatives, of course, will live on, as long as there's a body prepared to maintain and develop the code. But it marks a watershed because AOL was a multinational corporation with a worldwide user base that for five years believed it could develop a mass market browser.
Can ya believe it? :) (http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/35/31985.html)
