- possible or not, and how best to back up an e-mail folder, or stree an e-mail folder on the HDD?

Tell ya, is buying a new computer an trying to bring yer old e-mails with yer a p.i.t.a. or frickin' what???

What program are you using for email?
Outlook?
Outlook Express?

as far as i know, you can't attach a folder unless you zip the folder first

as for importing your mail from an old computer, to a new computer.. can't help you there, sorry
unless the files are small enuf to be put on disk & copied to the new puter

You can use export feature in your email proggie... if you are using outlook/express.

oh where's that jim lol

if you can find where your .eml files are stored (those are your emails), you can copy the folder they are in, & paste it onto the new computerin the exact same location they were on, on the old computer

Actually it's .pst files you are looking for... but Jim knows exactly where to look and what to do with them... I've never done that procedure before. :D

Deb, when I back up my outlook express e-mails, I look for .dbx files too. :confused:

I've never had success backing up emails... so I make sure no email is so important the I don't want to lose it. LOL

*pst files are used by MS Outlook (MS Outlook is part of MS Office)

*.dbx files are used by Outlook Express (Free email program found on just about every Windows based computer.
