Installing my sis's brand new 60 gig maxtor diamondhead (cool HDD) .

her setup

20 gig primary master
4 gig primary slave

zero secondary master
cdrom(burner) secondary slave

-------------------------

I installed her new 60 gig as primary master
will install her 20 gig as primary slave

should I take her cd rom (burner) and change to secondary master
and place her little 4 gig as a secondary slave?

have yet to format and install OS yet.

patiently waiting :D

I have a two drive set up also, and I just installed a CD burner using the default master drive set up and it works fine

Hope this helps

thanks jmd! :D

was wondering about burner setups.. understand that a main harddrive shouldn't be on the same cable for faster burning purposes.

Her new setup will be 3 HD's and one burner... :D

No probs

I have a master drive and a slave drive.

So I just used the default setting for my CD burner and it works like a dream.

Now keep in mind if she has a normal CD drive and she is installing a CD burner along with the original CD you may have to set it up differently.

I’m not sure how that would work.

Good luck J

nope no regular cdrom... her's bit the dust so she just bought a new burner instead of the old run of the mill cdrom. LOL Nice burner she has... uses nero for software and INcd that acts like a floppy :D

awww that's too bad rem.... I tried to install my easy cd creater and direct cd on her system and the burner didn't like it... had no choice but to use nero... I like it though. We are still on win98se LOL

Nero is good..EZ CD worked good on my old machine with 98se, but it was a slow writer..seems like EZ CD is no good for these new fast burners

I use Nero and it works great

A few at school have switched from EZ CD to the new Nero

I have the LG burner and have been happy with it so far:D

Only drawback to INCD from Nero is that sometimes it doesn't write yer jpgs correctly or magically they are gone next time ya load the CDRW in.
