popups...

Lately now, I've been getting this style popup, which is even more annoying than the other window (with pictures) style. After a few of these, I get another message from a popup killer for sale.

I used to get them from "classmates.com" and the like, but these are more like the spam mail content. This one, and lose weight, grow hair, etc.

Anybody else getting their fill of spam in this way?? I'll need a popup killer right away. :mad: :mad:

in XP you can turn those off

control panel/ admin tools/services/ click messenger disable that service

i don't know the steps for it in 2000, but it should be similar

sometimes, that will turn on again & they may come back... if so, just turn it off again

yes that's true..it can come back on again. I have found that if you follow this proceedure tho, it doesn't start back up again unless you reset it to.

Click on the "Start" button.
Right-Click on "My Computer"
Choose "Manage" from the menu that appears.
In the left column Highlight "Services and Applications"
In the right column Double-Click on "Services".
Double-Click on the service called "Messenger".
Click the "Stop" button to stop the service.
Change the "Startup Type:" to "Manual"
Click "Apply".
Click "OK".
Close "Computer Management"

lolololol nav, *** we gonna do, we are unindated with all this crap, i keep sending it to deleted rubbish, but then they come back time and again, don't ya just get sick of it, i tell outlook block this message, when it does i see it takes out several from the inbox, so more than one addy for same crap....:mad:

I'm not talking about it being in my mail...it's popping up on the screen. Same types of messages though....they are determined to get through...;) :mad: :)
