don't know if anyone has seen this site, but you can download a small program and it identifies your AMD CPU and features..

RR I have a screenshot of yours that is still in mine.... take a look at this and see what you think. Just showing the processor page.. if you want to see the other tabs I'll pm the screenshots to ya.

oh.. btw I had to reset my FSB back to the 100 MHz from the 112 MHz... my system was freezing up on me at times.

I'm at a loss with why it shows that way on your board. I never had a problem getting that particular cpu to show it's correct speed.

When I went from a Palomino core chip(1800XP+) to the Barton core I have in my Epox board, I had to change some BIOS settings to get it to read correctly after initial boot. My board is "jumper-less", however. In the other thread, I posted a bunch of links and findings, have you given them a try yet?

Would we do anything with the information we might gather from this?:D

Would we do anything with the information we might gather from this?:Donly for AMD processors though... I'll look for others like Intel, Celeron... etc.

Central Brain Identifier is designed to provide detailed identification and obtaining the most complete information about all AMD processors. It recognizes more than 50 various models of the AMD processors. It shows not only the general information about the processor, but also allows to determine its important technical features, such as processor core name, core revision, a nominal processor frequency, the date of announce, an OPN number, the components of the PowerNow! Technology and also independently computes an XP-Rating for processors having a Model Number. The program is capable to detect the core voltage of mobile AMD processors and the newest AMD Athlon 64 processor. Advanced recognition methods can accurately determine mobile, desktop and server variants of the AMD processors. The power diagnostic capabilities provide the most complete information about the processor cache. The program incorporates tweak features such as processor name modification, L1 Cache ECC control and Clock Control Register correction and DRAM timing control. Central Brain Identifier is aggressively aimed to compete with well-known processor diagnostic tools.

The last board I had that AMD running on full time, other than to check it on my Epox board, which I never took a screen shot of. This is running on the pc-pitstop website. Based on an old ECS board with SDRAM, and very few overclocking features. That system is now running my old AMD Palomino XP1800+, which is a 1.53Ghz.

Try this program, also from AMD, and see what it has to say.(first download)

AMD CPUInfo - This Windows® application executes and displays the return data from the CPUID instruction set and displays Hypertransport™ information if the processor supports it. This application also shows the maximum speed of the processor.

This page may also shed some light on what's going on(links to trouble-shoot on the right)

Thanks Deb. Most of the numbers are all Greek to me, but it's still interesting to know what's inside these things.
