My hubby is considering getting "himself" a new computer (his first)...:cry
I posted this on another forum...so excuse the contradictio..(saying it's mine..LOL)...but I did cut & paste.
I am considering getting the AMD XP2000+....was talking to a friend and he said he had one for one day and that it had serious freezing probs. Said he took it back to the shop and there were 6 other people there with the same problem. (hard to believe)...his computer has been at the shop for two weeks now and they apparently are having trouble finding the culprit.
Wondering what you people think and is anyone having any troubles with this computer??

AMD Athlon procs are awesome. Sounds like the person had a heat problem. Im running the XP1700+ overclocked to the XP2000+ specs :) No lock ups, and I used to have an Athlon Thunderbird that only locked up when I overclocked it to high :angel

She says 6 other people were in the shop with the same problem. Wonder if its just using the stock heat sink and fans.
Maybe wise to slap something in the way of an aftermarket cpu fan

Yea, company probably doesn't know how to stick the heatsinks on hehe. either that or using those thermal pads instead of thermal grease.

Right, I said if I was in a shop and 6 peeps had the same prob..I'd have to question the shop. I think they are shiesters..lol
I'd say they are using cheap products to sell cheap computers. I wouldn't hold it against AMD.
Plus...taking two weeks to figure it out???I'd be asking for my money back.
